Recreational striped bass season opens tomorrow

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-36-2018 opens the Albemarle Sound Management Area to the recreational harvest of striped bass at 12:01 a.m., Monday, October 1.

The recreational harvest season will close by proclamation when the harvest allocation is reached or 11:59 p.m., April 30, 2019.

For this season, striped bass may be taken by hook-and-line or recreational commercial gear seven days a week.

It is unlawful to possess striped bass less than 18 inches in total length and more than two (2) striped bass taken in any one day by hook-and-line or for recreational purposes from the Albemarle Sound Management Area.

The Albemarle Sound Management Area encompasses the Albemarle, Currituck, Croatan and Roanoke sounds and tributaries.
