Reflections by the Sea: Steps

By Betsy Ore Glass

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. – Psalm 37:23-24 ESV

Trying to get in more steps in my day has brought about some enjoyment even though it is difficult at times. “Just a few more steps and I will meet my goal,” I say to myself. One of the most difficult walks I ever took was in the deep, deep sand trying to reach the ocean on Cape Cod. Everything hurt!

With every step we take, God is right there with us. It comforts me to know that I am truly not alone. He offers protection and guidance if I am willing to receive. He is there for you too. I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. Jeremiah 10:23 ESV

Stay on course. Follow His Teachings, sometimes He will carry us through the path and other times He will take us by the hand and lead us. Step out in faith always.
