Gregory Robert Hall

Gregory Robert Hall, 54, completed his earthly mission suddenly Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Poplar Branch, NC. He was born on July 21, 1969, in Richmond, VA. Greg got his taste for adventure early, traveling around the world as a youth with his parents. He grew up fascinated with all things nautical and continued to boat like his grandparents taught him. Through his travels, Greg came to appreciate international cuisine. He thoroughly enjoyed trying new restaurants and sampling local dishes and delicacies.

Greg realized his dream of being his own boss and owned several art galleries like his grandfather and his parents, before finally buying Island Tobacco Co. in Nags Head in the early 1990s and expanding with several more locations over the years. Greg loved pleasing his customers and getting to know them over the years. His loyal employees became family. Greg was not only a tenacious businessman, but a courageous fighter overcoming difficult medical and mobility challenges. No matter the struggle, he confronted it head-on determined to claim victory.

Greg’s spirit will be missed but cherished by many, including his wife of 18 years, Cammie Hall, and his daughter, Tara Hall both of the Aydlett, NC residence; his father, George Hall II (Michelle) of Grandy, NC; his mother, Linda Hall, and his brother, George Hall III (Sabra) all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two nephews, Griffin Hall and Nathan Hall; one niece, Ashley Hall; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and close friends, and last but not least his trusted employees, and loyal customers.

The family is honoring Greg’s preference for cremation. Plans are pending for a memorial gathering and details will be announced in the new year. Please express condolences to the family via the online register at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
