George S. Garrick

On April 21, 2024, George S. Garrick, a lifelong resident of the Outer Banks and Currituck, passed away at the age of 73. George graduated from J.P. Knapp, in Currituck, in 1968. He worked in many different occupations throughout his life including retail grocery, mobile home sales, real estate and building supply sales.

Not the least bit interested in retiring, George worked at Kellogg’s building supply up until the time of his passing. He enjoyed working and staying busy. George was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah H. Garrick and George Garrick; and his sister Jeri Garrick Spruill of Powells Point. Surviving family members include two nephews, one niece, and numerous cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate George’s life is planned for Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head. Pastor Heath Jackson will officiate.
