Communication services restored for Hatteras Island after fiber cable cut
Dare County Emergency Management reported just before 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 that internet, cellular and landline phone service has been restored for Hatteras Island.
“If your service has not yet been restored, please attempt to contact your service provider by all means possible,” stated a Dare Emergency Management press release.
On Friday afternoon, Dare County Emergency Services reported that a fiber cable that provides connectivity to Hatteras Island was damaged on May 13, 2022, causing the island to lose internet, cellular and landline phone service.
