Manteo sports review

Manteo High School girls teams were in the winner’s circle recently with softball and soccer wins.

Jumping to a 3-1 first inning lead, the Manteo varsity softball team went on to win Friday’s away conference game against Gates County by a score of 8-3. In varsity baseball action, it was the Red Barons with the most runs taking that conference game 7-4.

Manteo girls were back in the winner’s column Monday when the varsity soccer team easily won a non-conference home game against a visiting Hertford County team by running up a 9-0 score.

The Manteo varsity track and field team has a non-conference home meet with Cape Hatteras scheduled for today (Wednesday, March 27) at 4 p.m and the Manteo varsity soccer team is scheduled to play a non-conference at home game against Northeastern (Elizabeth City) at 6 p.m.
