To the Editor:

In 1860, the Pony Express broke the record for delivery of the mail – 1966 miles in 10 days. Now it takes 10 days to deliver a letter to Norfolk, Va., only 90 miles. A lot has happened in almost 200 years.

The U.S. Postal Service has been delivering mail to its citizens, the United States customer, for almost 200 years.

It’s taken only 30 days to tear this excellent system apart.

Don’t blame the career postal employee. Have you noticed their smile when you go to the service window, always a kind word or a nice smile. They want to get the mail delivered efficiently and on time.

The new postmaster general is determined to destroy the service.

He wasn’t on the top 50 list of applicants for the job. He doesn’t know the difference of a post card or an envelope.

Totally unqualified for the job.
