Hyde County fifth graders meet up virtually

The first Literature Circle meeting between Ocracoke School’s fifth graders and Mattamuskeet’s fifth graders took place January 25. Students are reading “Blood on the River” by Elisa Carbone, a novel about the Jamestown settlement.

“Thank you to Ocracoke teachers Jeanie Owens and Mattamuskeet Elementary teacher Louise Beirne for making this possible!” stated a post from Ocracoke School.
