Free community resiliency model workshop set in Buxton

Our Lady of the Seas Catholic Church has extended an invitation to the Hatteras Island community to attend a free self-improvement workshop for the new year.

The workshop will be held January 6, 2023 at Our Lady of the Seas in Buxton. Sign-in and coffee will be held at 8:30 a.m. and the workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.

“We all know how difficult it is to decrease stress in our lives,” noted event organizers. “This focused workshop will help us to identify our stresses, understand how our body reacts to stress, and provide us with options on how we may positively respond to those stresses.”

Susan Lee, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and a certified community resiliency model trainer will lead the workshop. Complimentary hot coffee and lunch will be provided, along with nurses available to take blood pressure readings.

To register, go to darekids.org. Contact Cathy Silk at 252-489-3922 or Susan Lee at 252-473-0398 or leesu1255@gmail.com with any questions.

Seats are limited. Registration deadline is January 3.
