Outer Banks Chamber sets panel presentation on shoplifting issues

The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce has invited local business owners, managers and community members to a panel discussion focused on preventing and addressing shoplifting issues.

“This special event celebrates the unique and wonderful businesses that make the Outer Banks so exceptional, and aims to equip our community with valuable strategies and insights for safeguarding them,” noted an Outer Banks Chamber news release.

The event, which is sponsored by Twiford Law Firm, PC, will be held Tuesday, August 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Comfort Inn North Oceanfront in Kill Devil Hills. While the presentation is free, advance registration required.

Panelists include Nags Head Chief of Police Perry Hale; Jeff Cruden, district attorney, 1st Prosecutorial District, North Carolina Judicial Branch; and Allen Moran, of Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café and Basnight & Moran Insurance.

“Join us for an engaging discussion featuring expert panelists who will share their knowledge on tackling shoplifting challenges,” stated the release. “Chief Perry Hale and District Attorney Jeff Cruden will provide law enforcement and legal perspectives, while Allen Moran will offer insights from the experience of running a successful Outer Banks business.”

Coffee and light refreshments will be available.

Due to limited seating, confirm attendance in advance by calling 252-441-8144 or by going to outerbankschamber.com/prevent2024.

“We look forward to seeing you there and working together to keep our Outer Banks businesses safe and thriving!” stated the release.
