Striped bass recreation anglers must use landing tags

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-16-2019 implements tagging and reporting requirements for recreational striped bass harvest from the Atlantic Ocean (Ocracoke Inlet to the North Carolina/Virginia state line) from May 1 through Oct. 31.
The proclamation is effective 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, May 1.
A landing tag must be affixed through the mouth and gill cover before leaving the site of landing.
The proclamation does not change the existing 28-inch minimum size limit and one fish per person daily possession limit as outlined in Proclamation FF-83-2014.
