North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper will speak at the Dare to Discover Dementia Friendly Symposium, Thursday, April 12.

The event will be held at Duck Woods Country Club at 10:15 a.m.

Ronnie Sloan, President of The Outer Banks Hospital, will talk about the hospital being the “First Dementia Friendly Hospital in North Carolina.

Dan Lewis, President of the Outer Banks Restaurant Association, will speak on Dementia Friendly Restaurants. Dianne Denny, Chairman of the Dementia Task Force, will speak about the services and support offered for caregivers engaged in caring for those living with Dementia/ Alzheimer’s. Tess Judge, community citizen and member of the Dare County Older Adult Task Force, will speak about the importance of the Dementia Friendly Program to the community.
