Outer Banks Presbyterian Church to present Easter musical

The Music Ministry of Outer Banks Presbyterian Church will present “Alabaster Box,” a musical about the life of Christ, on Saturday, April 13, at 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 14, also at 5 p.m.

The musical presentation will consist of song selections and narrations taken from various sources by church music director Jason Evans. The performance will be given by the Sanctuary Choir of the church, along with numerous musical guests combining for a 50-voice choir, a 12-piece orchestra, and narrators to tell the story of Jesus’s love for all mankind. The first portion of the program will feature several anthems around the theme of worship, including the featured song, “Alabaster Box.” The second portion of the musical will tell the story of the final week of Christ’s life.

The choir has been rehearsing the musical for weeks. Guest soloists include Natalie Drummond, Pamela Turner, Elaine Reed and Brian Hare. The orchestra will be comprised of Steve Blackstock, organ; Jason Evans, piano; David Hopson, drum set/percussion; Reid Stockdill, timpani/percussion; Timothy Briggs, electric bass guitar; Emily Anderson and Billy Tanner, violin; Sue Waters, viola; Suzanne Blackstock and Katie Blackstock Blanchard, flute; and Christi Briggs, clarinet.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is free; a freewill love offering will be taken. A nursery will be provided.
