The Dare Literacy Council’s semi-annual book sale with be held on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Sunday, April 14 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Kill Devil Hills Recreation Center on Mustian St.

Book prices are from $.25 to $2, with several thousands of books of different categories available. There is a large selection of titles from specific authors to cookbooks, gardening, history, nonfiction, literature, etc. including hardbacks and paperbacks. A special selection for children and young adults will also be available.

The proceeds from this sale will benefit the Dare Literacy Council’s volunteer tutors and adult students with learning materials for students who want to learn English as a second language, work on his/her GED (math, reading, English, social studies and science) and preparation tutoring for the US Citizenship Exam. The Dare Literacy Council is a non-profit organization.

Donations of books from the public are always welcome. Collection bins are located at Ace Hardware (Manteo, Nags Head and Kitty Hawk), Dare Center, Sun Realty in KDH, Kitty Hawk Baptist Church, PNC Bank and Xenith Bank in Kitty Hawk, Coldwell Banker Seaside Vacations in Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk and Kellogg Supply in Duck. Books donations will be taken until the last Wednesday before the sale.

Volunteers will be welcomed to assist with this book sale.
