National Park Service closes Outer Banks facilities early Tuesday, to remain closed Wednesday

Ahead of an impending winter storm, National Park Service visitor facilities at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Wright Brothers National Memorial will close at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and remain closed Wednesday, Jan. 22. Outdoor areas at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Fort Raleigh will remain open.

As of Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service’s Newport/Morehead City Weather Forecast Office expected blowing and drifting snow with possible blizzard conditions to impact the area this evening through early Wednesday, Jan. 22.
