Dare County to perform culvert work on pipes under highway
The single-lane closures currently on U.S. 64 between Nags Head and Manteo will be extended approximately three-quarters of a mile to the west the week of Jan. 13, according to a news release from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The lane closures are necessary to allow Dare County workers to perform maintenance on culvert pipes under the highway.
The work is expected to take two to three weeks to complete, weather permitting, stated the release.
During that time, the right lanes and shoulders in both directions will be closed to allow room for the equipment and materials needed to perform the culvert work.
The speed limit in the work zone will remain 45 mph.
