Kill Devil Hills man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported on the arrest of a Kill Devil Hills man on drug charges following a traffic stop.
According to a DCSO news release, at around 8:15 p.m. on January 5, 2025, deputies from the A-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Hwy 158 near Martins Point Rd.
“During the stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was deployed and indicated the presence of an illegal controlled substance. The vehicle was searched and an amount of Methamphetamine was located and seized,” stated the release.
Darrin D. Duffin, 31, of Kill Devil Hills, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Duffin was issued a $10,000 secured bond related to the charges.
