Currituck Travel and Tourism receives top award at NCTIA conference

The Currituck County Travel and Tourism Department recently received a top award during the North Carolina Travel Industry Association (NCTIA) Leadership Conference.
The NCTIA honored Currituck County with a gold award in leisure marketing for the county’s 2023-24 campaign, “It Never Gets Old,” which promoted the Northern Outer Banks.
Two other awards were also given to recipients with connections to Currituck County.
North Carolina Senator Bobby Hanig, a Currituck County resident and former county commissioner, received the State Legislator of the Year Award for 2024. Hanig was honored for his efforts and support of North Carolina tourism destinations and the local economy.
Local businessman Clark Twiddy received the Tourism Individual Excellence Award for his outstanding contributions to the development of the travel industry in North Carolina.
