International cooking classes offer flavors from around the world

If a trip around the world is what you are craving, look no further than the Currituck County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Just because you cannot drop everything and book an island vacation does not mean you cannot experience the rich and diverse cuisine found around the world. Be adventurous! Spice up your menu, learn new methods of cooking, and taste new foods. All the dishes prepared will be served as lunch for the day.
These classes are open to adults and youth 11 years and older.
Greek Cuisine
Prepare baklava, tzatziki and many other foods from the Mediterranean country of Greece on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NC Cooperative Extension – Currituck Center. The cost is $15.
Islands of the Caribbean
Explore the rich, vibrant and multicultural flavors of the Caribbean on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will be preparing dishes from Jamaica, Cuba and Puerto Rico. The cost is $15.
Registration is required and not complete until class fee is received. You can register online at go.ncsu.edu/internationalcooking19 within five business days of registering or in person at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center or by mailing a check made payable to “Currituck County” to 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917.
