First Flight, Manteo swimmers compete in first meet of season

Dare County high school swim teams competed in their first meet of the 2024-2025 season.
On November 12, First Flight and Manteo High School competed at the YMCA in Nags Head. Team scores for the girls were First Flight 178 and Manteo 63; for the boys the scores were First Flight 179 and Manteo 68.
First place winners at the meet were Finnegan Davis (M) 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle; Dylan Hallac (FF) 50 freestyle and 100 Backstroke; Cormac Davis (M) 200 IM and 400 freestyle; Merideth Gaskill (M) 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke; Josh Mouser (FF) 100 freestyle; Merrick Shumaker (FF) 100 breaststroke; Makayla Jennings (FF) 200 IM; Allison Roper (FF) 50 freestyle; Ayva Kromi (FF) 100 butterfly; Van Digby (FF) 100 butterfly; Cameron Piland (FF) 100 breaststroke; and Merrick Shumaker (FF) 100 breaststroke.
First Flight girls won the 200 free (Makayla Jennings, Saylor Willis, Alexa Hallac, Lana Walters) and medley (Hayden Hall, Cameron Piland, Schuyler Wilson, Allison Roper) relays as well as the 400 free (Hayden Hall, Lana Walters, Saylor Willis, Allison Roper) relay.
First Flight boys won the 200 free (Josh Mouser, Jack Spivey, Van Digby, Merrick Shumaker) and medley (Van Digby, Dylan Hallac, Merrick Shumaker, Dan Brown) relays as well as the 400 free (Dan Brown, Josh Mouser, Noah Savage, Dylan Hallac) relay.
