Manteo Baptist Church will be hosting a Holiday Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, November 16 in the Family Life Center behind the main church building.
As we approach what many consider to be the most wonderful time of the year, it could be the perfect holiday season shopping location.
Some 40 crafters and artists will showcase their holiday creations that include wreaths and similar decor, gift ideas, home-baked goods (with orders accepted for holiday festivities), original watercolors, acrylic and resin art as well as hand-painted glassware. Also available will be quilt and crochet items, hand-made felt ornaments as well as those from sea glass and oyster shells, embroidered gift ideas, pottery, handcrafted jewelry, handmade soaps, hand-crafted wood products.
A special treat will be representatives from Scentsy and Essential Oils on site who are sure to create the fresh smells of the holiday season.
Also of note, WAR (Women At Risk) an international group involved in domestic and global human trafficking to rescue and restore women and children to lives of dignity and worth will have items available. The world market shop WAR has prepared is full of beautiful jewelry and other hand-made gifts created by rescued and at-risk women. Every $300 in sales supports a woman in a safe-house for one month.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., Manteo Baptist Church will be providing a free hot meal until it’s all gone. The planned menu is reported to be chicken pot pie (not pastry and chicken) and/or homemade soup.
If that’s not enough, Santa will arrive at 3 p.m., so you will want to bring your own camera.
It’s clear to see that there will be something for everyone.
There was no entry fee for this market; just a monetary contribution, of the vendor’s choice, to the Lottie Moon International Missions Christmas Offering.
