John Louis Burgess, 81, of Elizabeth City, died October 13, 2024 at home. He was born December 13, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on October 17. Friends and family are invited to bring a dish for a potluck gathering at Forest Park Outreach Center immediately following the service.
