Applications sought for Thomas A. Baum Senior Center Advisory Board members

The Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills has announced that applications are currently being accepted for members to serve on the center’s recently established advisory board.

Located at 300 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills, the Thomas. A. Baum Senior Center offers a variety of programs and activities designed to promote active and healthy lifestyles for older adults within the Dare County community. In addition, the center also provides an assortment of opportunities for recreation, socialization, nutrition and health support services for Dare County residents ages 55 and older.

The purpose of the new advisory board is to provide citizen input to Dare County in establishing goals and policies concerning the operation of the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center and its many community outreach programs. In order to be eligible to serve as a member of the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center Advisory Board, individuals must be Dare County residents.

The Thomas A. Baum Senior Center Advisory Board will hold no fewer than six regularly scheduled meetings each calendar year, the dates and times of which will be determined and approved by the advisory board.

Applications for initial members of the new Thomas A. Baum Senior Center Advisory Board will be accepted through the end of August. Members will be appointed by the Dare County Board of Commissioners.
