Wilson and Huff reappointed

Dare County assessor Hosea Wilson and Dare County tax collector Becky Huff have each been reappointed to serve in their respective positions for an additional four-year term expiring in July 2028.

County manager Robert L. Outten made the recommendation for Wilson and Huff to be reappointed during the Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting that was held Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

After the Dare County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the recommended reappointments, Wilson and Huff were formally sworn in by Skyler Foley, who serves as clerk to the board.

Wilson was initially appointed and sworn in as Dare County tax assessor on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, after having served as assistant county assessor since Oct. 26, 2015. Huff was initially appointed and sworn in as Dare County tax collector on Dec. 14, 2014, having previously served as tax collector for the Town of Nags Head.
