Roper – On Saturday night, July 13th at 10:45 p.m. Jesus came and took my precious wife home.

Patricia, 75, was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Francis and Lillian Drohan. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Zac Weeks.

Pat graduated high school and continued her education at Baltimore Junior College earning her associates degree.

In 1977 she met and married the love of her life, Jack Dawson. She lived and loved her life in Alaska for ten years. She also owned and operated a tropical bird shop. Cats were a big part of her life. Over time she rescued over 40 cats and gave them a loving home.

After returning to North Carolina, she worked for the Department of Social Services in Washington County. She retired in 2013 after twenty plus years.

Pat was an active member of Roper Baptist Church for 36 years. She served as choir member and assistant choir director, Sunday School Teacher, Women on Mission prayer chairman, member of the Chrismon Team and many other committees.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Jack A. Dawson of Roper, NC; her daughter, Terri Weeks (James); grandsons, Chris and Caz Weeks; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Addie Weeks, all from Wasilla, Alaska.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Roper Baptist Church at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be made to the Roper Baptist Church Memorial Fund at 44 Griffin Road, Roper, NC  27970.
