The Coastal Humane Society is holding its first spring 2024 pet vaccination clinic this coming Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in front of Good Dog Retreat in Manteo. The clinic veterinarian is Dr. Mary Burkart from Roanoke Island Animal Hospital.

No appointments are needed. Payment must be by cash or check. “Our Clinics are popular so families should be prepared to wait. It is first come, first served,” noted the Coastal Humane Society announcement.

The vaccination package for dogs includes rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella vaccines for a total of $31. Heartworm testing is available for $14. The package for cats includes rabies and FVRCP vaccines for $18. Vaccines are priced individually so families can choose whether they want the package for their pets or just some vaccines.

Families must bring their dogs to the clinic on leashes and their cats in carriers.

Those unable to attend this clinic can mark Saturday, April 20 on their calendars for a vaccination clinic at The Sound Veterinary Hospital in Nags Head. Follow Coastal Humane Society on Facebook and Instagram to stay tuned for details.

The Coastal Humane Society began in 1997 as an all-volunteer non-profit organization to help Outer Banks community members care for their pets. Twenty-seven years later – thanks to the generosity of the community – the organization has helped over 11,000 Outer Banks pets maintain their health and stay together with their people. Programs include low-cost spay/neuter, vaccinations, medical assistance, heartworm testing, pet food and supplies in the wake of hurricanes and other community-wide emergencies.
