A Nags Head man is facing 129 charges following joint operation by the Nags Head Police Department and the Kill Devil Hills Police Department.

The Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills police departments have announced in a statement that in “a collaborative effort to combat criminal activity and enhance public safety, the Town of Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills Police Departments successfully apprehended Donald Gray, 35 years old, a resident of Nags Head, in connection with a series of thefts impacting both communities.”

Officers from both police departments executed Gray’s arrest on November 28, 2023 following an extensive joint investigation, noted that statement.

In Nags Head, Gray is facing 50 felony and 15 misdemeanor charges and in Kill Devil Hills, he is facing 48 felonies and 16 misdemeanors. The charges include felony breaking and entering vehicles and businesses, felony larceny of firearm, financial card theft, possession of stolen goods, and possession of firearm by felon, among others.

“We are proud of the seamless cooperation between our two police departments in bringing this individual to justice,” stated Nags Head Police Chief Perry Hale. “This collaboration exemplifies our shared commitment to safeguarding our residents and maintaining a secure environment for everyone in the Outer Banks region.”

Town of Kill Devil Hills Police Chief Gary Britt said, “The coordinated efforts between the Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills Police Departments underscore the importance of interagency collaboration in ensuring the safety and security of our communities. The arrest is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the officers involved in the operation.”
