The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) will hold an opening reception for the show of Jerry Dorman on December 3 at 11 a.m.  Refreshments will be served and Dorman will give a brief talk about his art promptly at 11:20 a.m.

Dorman was born in New Jersey in 1951. He moved to Kitty Hawk in the early 1970s. He earned a BFA in painting and printmaking from VCU in Richmond, Va.

The majority of his work is based on the ocean. Dorman’s love of surfing and waveforms has been the theme of his work for the past 50 years.

Dorman’s work in acrylic features mostly gorgeous, glassy waves. Realistic and abstract, he strives to capture the beauty and motion of the ever-changing sea. He frames his own work as he is also a woodworker.

The UUCOB Meetinghouse is located at 831 Herbert Perry Road, on the corner of Kitty Hawk and Herbert Perry roads, in Kitty Hawk.
