Elizabeth City Police Department seeks information after firearm discharged

The Elizabeth City Police Department is seeking information from the public after vehicles and a building were damaged by gunshots.

According to an ECPD news release, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at around 3:23 p.m., officers of the Elizabeth City Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Roanoke Ave. for a report of shots fired. This incident occurred in the parking lot area of Walker Landing.

Officers arrived on scene and found two vehicles that were struck by gunfire. Officers also located bullet holes on the exterior of an apartment building. No injuries were reported and no suspects have been identified at this time.

ECPD noted that this is an active ongoing investigation and “the Police Department urges anyone with additional information about these incidents to contact the Elizabeth City Police Department at (252) 335-4321 or the Crime Line at (252) 335-5555. All information received will remain anonymous and strictly confidential.”
