Friends and family of the Baum-Meekins Cemetery on Roanoke Island gathered on a recent Sunday afternoon at the Whole Ministries Center in Wanchese.

Given the last meeting was in the spring of 2019, it was an opportunity for all to continue conversations and to meet new family and friends with a connection to the historic cemetery off of Mother Vineyard Road.

Board Chairman Lila Schiffman gave opening remarks and welcomed all. A short presentation by Clare Baum followed and looked back at the early days of the Cemetery Trust and its continuing work to preserve the cemetery for future generations.
