Outer Banks Hotline announces inaugural ‘Dogs Against Domestic Violence’ event

Outer Banks Hotline has announced its first annual Dogs Against Domestic Violence event, set for this Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Dowdy Park in Nags Head for a day of four-legged fun in support of Hotline’s mission to end domestic violence on the Outer Banks.

The event will include a dog costume contest, dog-owner lookalike contest, best tail wagger contest, and silliest trick contest. All contest winners will be given a commemorative plaque and gift from a local sponsor – TW’s Bait and Tackle, Keller Fishing Supply Company, Front Porch Café or Waveriders Deli.

Chip’s Wine and Beer will be sponsoring a gift basket for the free raffle.

For Pitties Sake rescue and Currituck SPCA will be bringing adoptable animals looking to find their fur-ever homes.

Stag’s Soulshine Kitchen will be serving up gyros, pulled pork and other delicious selections, and Sweet Iris Mobile Beverages will be onsite to quench thirsts with a variety of non- alcoholic beverages.

EZ Malone will be providing entertainment between contests, and a variety of vendors will be onsite to provide information on pet-related services on the Outer Banks.
