Dare commissioners to meet Monday

The Dare County Board of Commissioners meets Monday, Aug. 7, 2023 starting at 9 a.m.

The board meets in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the county’s Administrative Complex, 954 Marshall C. Collins Dr. in Manteo.

Commissioners will consider a five-year Capital Improvement Plan recommended by the board’s Capital Improvement Plan Committee.

A public hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on the S-13 and S-14 supplements to the Dare County Code of Ordinances. The items in the supplements contain amendments to the Dare County Code of Ordinances adopted since January 2022.

Commissioners will consider a special use permit application for a cluster home development in Avon after a quasi-judicial public hearing set for 9 a.m. or as soon thereafter as practicable.

Two proclamations will be considered, one for Child Support Awareness Month and Overdose Awareness Month.

The commissioners are asked to approve a letter of support for a NCDOT application for the Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) discretionary grant program.
