Country music star Jake Owen took a plunge off the Cora Mae Basnight Bridge in downtown Manteo Saturday ahead of his sold-out concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park. Fifty fans paid $150 each to have their picture taken with Owen before making the jump, with all proceeds going to the charitable Jake Owen Foundation. The 15-foot jump into Shallowbag Bay is considered a rite of passage for many locals and regular visitors.
