The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Wanchese man following a pursuit.

According to a DCSO press release, on May 30, 2023 at approximately 1:15 p.m., deputies working the B-District attempted to stop a vehicle near Burrus and Mill Landing Road in Wanchese.

“The vehicle did not stop and continued out of Wanchese towards Nags Head, NC. The Deputies stop the pursuit due to the amount of traffic on US 64,” stated the release. “Nags Head Police were able to find the vehicle near the Quality Plus where it again failed to stop. After a short pursuit the driver jumped from the vehicle and ran. A deputy was able to catch the driver who was placed under arrest.”
