Virginia man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Virginia man on drug charges following a traffic stop.
According to a DCSO press release, on April 15, 2023 at approximately 7:17 p.m., deputies working the A-District conducted a traffic stop on NC Hwy 158 near Neptune St. in Kill Devil Hills.
“During the stop, a K9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of a controlled substance,” stated the release. “The vehicle was searched and an amount of Methamphetamine, Alza Medication, Drug Paraphernalia and a handgun were located and seized.”
Ronald Lee Harris Jr., 59, of Courtland, Va., was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Harris was given a $6,500 secured bond.
The driver of the vehicle, Brittney Bradshaw, 24, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, was cited for misdemeanor possession of concealed handgun and released.
