Patricia “Pat” Williams

Manteo – Patricia “Pat” Williams, 82, of Manteo, NC died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in her home surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born on October 26, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA.

She is survived by daughter, Polly Rollinson and husband, Jamie of Wanchese, NC, sister, Barbara McQueen of Palm Springs, CA, niece, Sara Toyoda of Cathedral City, CA, grandchildren Kasey Rollinson of Cary, NC, Austin and Riley Rollinson of Wanchese, NC, and Timothy Zelker of Allentown, PA, and great niece and nephew Madisyn Ward and Logan Toyoda both of Cathedral City, CA.  In addition to her parents, William and Sara (Freeland) Post, she was pre-deceased by her husband Edward Williams and son Timothy Williams.

Pat was a graduate of Germantown High School in Philadelphia where she met the love of her life, Edward. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in Education from West Chester University. Pat taught in Allentown, Pennsylvania at The Swain School before moving to Manteo, North Carolina in the summer of 1987.

In 1995, Pat moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for 10 years where she worked as the Director of the DelCampo School, bringing new teaching strategies and improved teachers’ methodologies, before returning to Manteo to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Pat was an educator who believed that no soul was completely lost. She was known for her devotion to her family, especially her three grandchildren who were the center of her universe. With a warm smile, quick wit and no-nonsense work ethic, she never met a stranger and gave freely of her time and wisdom to anyone in need, touching the lives of everyone she met.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a future date and a graveside service will be held in Philadelphia in the summer of 2019.
