The Elizabeth City Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday night.

According to an ECPD press release, on November 15, 2022 at around 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of five  gunshots in the area of Bunnells Avenue and Washington Street.

“Once officers arrived in the area, they located Mr. Roderick White, age 41, a residence of the 800 block of Bunnells Ave, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” stated the release. “Mr. White was transported to Sentara Medical Center in Norfolk, VA where he later succumbed to his injuries.”

ECPD noted that this is an active ongoing investigation and anyone with any additional information is urged to contact the Elizabeth City Police Department at 252-335-4321 or the Crime Line at 252-335-5555. “All information received will remain anonymous and strictly confidential,” stated the release.
