Third grader Aria Thompson, of Skyco, spent her summer vacation as a volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors, serving alongside her grandmother Melissa D’Ambra, of Manteo.

Thompson is seen here receiving a certificate of award for her volunteer work this summer from Sandy Pace, director of the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center.

“Supplemental Nutrition Programs and volunteer service are very important to our elder community here in Dare County,” said Pace.
