Harry Adam Shumate

Harry Adam Shumate, 95, of Kitty Hawk, died August 28, 2022 at home.

A native of Bath County, Va., he was born August 10, 1927, to the late Julia Helmick Shumate and Kenton Fisher Shumate. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by wife Betty Lou Quidley Shumate and sister Mabel Neff.

Survivors include sisters-in-law Joan Keys, Darlene Smith and Vivian Simpson and other family.

Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
