On Monday, May 23 at around 6 a.m., two pickup trucks collided on US 158 in Currituck County.

One driver was killed and another was airlifted for medical care. Both vehicles were white Ford Super Duty pickups.

Kenneth Hudson, 48, of Elizabeth City, was traveling south on US 158 near Calvin O’Neal Court in Powells Point.

Tessa Henry, 18, of Moyock, was traveling north on US 158. Henry crossed left of center and collided with Hudson, who died, said State Highway Trooper R.M. Homer.

No passengers were in the vehicles.

A third vehicle was involved, striking debris from the initial collision.

Aspects of the incident are still under investigation, said Homer.

Also on the scene were officers from the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department and Currituck Emergency Medical Services.
