The Dare County League of Women Voters is presenting a program featuring a panel of judges discussing the roles of each court during an hour-long panel discussion on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Dare County Justice Center (Courthouse), located at 962 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo. This program is free and open to the public.
Dare LWV board member, Judge Linda McGee, Chief Judge, NC Court of Appeals (Retired), will moderate a panel of three judges: Judge Eula Reid, Superior Court Judge; Judge Amber Malarney (District Court Judge); and Judge Jennifer Bland (District Court Judge). These four women judges from the First Judicial District will present pertinent information as part of Dare League’s mission to “defend democracy” via educational programs that involve and inform citizens, stated a Dare LWV press release. Written questions about the system of justice may be submitted during the program.
“We are honored to be able to gather this esteemed panel of high-achieving women to help demystify the court system, and we hope you’ll join us,” stated the release.
