Cape Hatteras drops late season soccer match against NEAAAT

In a late season matchup, Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advance Technologies defeated Cape Hatteras Secondary 9-0 on the soccer field in Buxton on Monday, April 25, 2022.
A duo from NEAAAT, Camryn Smith and Kate Cerveny, combined for four goals in the first half. Smith scored seven minutes into the half and again halfway through. She would score three goals in the match.
Cerveny scored her first of four goals in the match with eight minutes lapsed in the first half.
Joining the scoring duo in the second half were Cassidy Smith and Samantha Harris, who each scored one goal.
A bright spot for Cape Hatteras girls soccer is that 15 of the 19 players on this year’s roster are in the ninth and tenth grades.
Two Cape Hatteras seniors and their families were saluted at the game. The seniors are Amayrani Ramirez and Madai Contreras.
Playing for Cape Hatteras for the 2022 season are Madai Contreras, Sarah Davis, Amayrani Ramirez, Andrea Lucas, Lency Ibarra, Elaina Miller, Evela Chandler, Lana Luckett, Emely Macias, Alice Cirisa, Alice Oden, Sherlyn Mendieta, Ivonne Cirisa, Savannah Johnson, Kathya Fonseca, Cate Parker, Emma Riggs, Gracie Fuller and Dorca Cruz.
Playing for NEAAAT’s 2022 team are Macayla Barry, Juliana Norman, Jessica Shaw, Gabby Burnett, Helen Donohue, Avery Otts, Samantha Harris, Riley Joyce, Camryn Smith, Cassidy Smith, Kate Cerveny and Kamryn Adams.
