Summer adventures await at Dare 4-H programs

4-H is the Cooperative Extension System’s dynamic and educational program for youth, serving about 6 million youth members across the United States. The group is open to youth between the ages of 5 and 18.

Beginner Sewing Class, June 6-7, 9 a.m.-noon for ages 7-14. Youth in this class will learn about the basics of sewing, and get to use their new skills while making their very own bookmark. There is no cost for this program.
Ignite the Flame Summer Adventure, June 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 11-18. In this candle making summer adventure, youth will make their own candles from start to finish. There is no cost for this program.
Busy Bee Summer Adventure, June 22-23, 9 a.m.-noon for ages 5-8. Learn all about the wonderful world of bees in this fun-filled summer adventure filled with lots of fun activities designed to teach youth about both native and honeybees. There is no cost for this program.
Cloverbud Cooking Summer Adventure, June 24, 10 a.m.-noon for ages 5-8. Participants will join Dare County 4-H to learn about the basics of cooking and make their own tasty treat. The cost for this program is $10 per youth.
Culinary Academy Summer Adventure! June 27-July 1, 10 a.m.-noon for ages 9-18. Make delightful dishes while learning about the culinary arts. The cost for this program is $50 per youth.
Electric Summer Adventure, July 7-8, 9 a.m.-noon, for ages 12-18. Learn about the exciting world of electricity through fun games and activities. Youth will build their own mason jar lamps during this program, The cost for this program is $25 per youth.
Trash Talks Summer Adventure, July 21-22, 9 a.m.-noon, for ages 8-12. Join Dare County 4-H to learn all about repurposing natural products and to make repurposed art. There is no cost for this program.
Mini Society Summer Adventure, July 25-29, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., for ages 12-16. Youth will create their own town, currency, laws and businesses in this full filled summer adventure all about civic engagement and entrepreneurship. They will have the opportunity to buy and sell real items all while learning about their government. There is no cost for this program.
