Nancy Neiberg Kosanovich, 78, of Nags Head, NC and Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on December 22, 2021 after a long and valiant battle with kidney disease, ultimately succumbing to Covid related complications. Nancy went out fighting like the warrior all of those who knew and loved her would have expected. Even on that final day, Nancy was sure that she could make a full recovery and return to her beloved Nags Head.

Nancy was born on July 6th, 1943 in Pittsburgh PA to Carl and Isabelle Neiberg. She graduated from Carrick High, and went on to study nursing at Pitt, where she would also later teach. Nancy was passionate about her profession, and was able to help countless individuals throughout her long career in PA and the Outer Banks.

Nancy married her best friend and high school sweetheart, James Kosanovich, and gave birth to three sons: Brian J. Kosanovich, Bradley D. Kosanovich and the late Brett Michael Kosanovich. All of whom were her pride and joy.

Nancy will be remembered for her infectious spirit, her passion for learning new things, her sense of adventure, and her overwhelming love of her friends and meeting new people. Nancy never met a stranger she didn’t like . . . no matter where she was, or who she was with, Nancy had a habit of introducing herself to anyone (and everyone).

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband James, her son Brett, and her nephew, Michael W. Naylor (Gretchen).

Nancy is survived by her sons Brian (Tom), Bradley (Samantha), Granddaughter Olivia, Sister-In-Law Judith P Naylor, Sister-in-Life Mary Gardner, Nephew Grant Naylor (Jennifer) and all those who loved her.

Funeral Services were held January 3, 2022 in Pittsburg, Pa. She was interred in St. George Cemetery immediately after. At this time, there will be no further celebration of life due to Covid. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Pittsburgh Symphony, or Pitt School of Nursing, organizations Nancy was extraordinarily passionate about.
