Wanchese Lions Club hears about Blue Star Mothers organization

Wanchese Lions Club recently hosted Pam Buscemi, president of the Blue Star Mothers chapter of Dare County.

Buscemi gave a presentation about the Blue Star Mothers organization to the Wanchese Lions Club. The Blue Star Mothers is made up of mothers who have children in the military. The Dare County chapter sends care packages to military personnel stationed overseas and in combat zones.

Buscemi was given several bags of items collected by the Wanchese Lions Club and was also given a donation to help pay for postage to send their care packages.

The Wanchese Lions Club was chartered in February of 1980 and has served the Wanchese community since that time. The club meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Wanchese community building. Anyone interested in the work of the Lions Club is welcome to attend.
