A North Carolina man was found shot to death in the front yard of his home, according to police.

Winston-Salem police said in a news release on Monday that officers responding to a call around noon south of downtown found Nicolas McGregor, 23, lying in a front yard with apparent gunshot wounds.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced McGregor dead at the scene, police said. So far, there have been no arrests in the case.

Police said McGregor’s death marks the 25th homicide in Winston-Salem in 2021, compared to 23 at the same time in 2020.
