Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reported in a press release that investigators responded to an apparent murder-suicide in the 11700 block of NC 33 Hwy E in Chocowinity.
According to the release, the response came after a family member requested a welfare check on the home’s occupants. BCSO stated that once inside the home, investigators found two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
“Based on a previous domestic incident from the night before and after interviewing family members, reviewing, and collecting evidence, investigators were able to determine that 52 yr. old Timothy O’Carroll shot his wife, 49 yr. old Tracy O’Carroll and then turned the gun on himself,” stated the release.
“The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office would like to express condolences to the families of Timothy and Tracy O’Carroll,” the release continued.
