Matt Mascia, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., caught this 53.4 lb. king mackerel on Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head recently.
For bait, he used a live spot floating at the surface while pin-rig fishing from the end of this 1,000 foot long concrete pier.
Mascia said he saw it swim into the baits and he “got to see him eat it.” He also caught one the week prior.
