Two deaths in separate North Carolina incidents declared justifiable homicides

Two separate deaths in North Carolina’s largest city have been ruled as justifiable homicides, police said.

One news release from Charlotte Mecklenburg police on Thursday said officers responding to a call on July 10 found Calvin Blair Hilton, 69, on a street southeast of downtown Charlotte with an apparent stab wound. Hilton was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

On March 14, officers found Milton Howard, 18, on the city’s east side with a gunshot wound. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.

In both instances, police said the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the cases and agreed with the decision by detectives that no one should be charged.
