A lot is under water today along the Outer Banks. Vacationers are posting Facebook videos of their kids kayaking in their beach-house driveways, flooded parking lots and streets are forcing some businesses and services to close — and the rain keeps coming.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Currituck County through 5:15 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, 6 to 7 inches of rain has fallen over eastern Currituck in the last seven days, with one to two more inches expected today. A flash flood watch is in effect for the entire Outer Banks through this evening.

In Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, 5 to 6 inches of rain has fallen in the last seven days. Manteo and Rodanthe have seen 6 to 7 inches, Frisco 7 to 8 inches and Ocracoke nearly 10 inches.
